Wait for button to be released\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once that message is displayed release the button and allow the AP to boot<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/integratingit.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/07\/070118_1541_resetciscoa11.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:574px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You should now be at the <strong><em>ap:<\/em><\/strong> prompt<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Type <strong><em>dir flash:<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/integratingit.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/07\/070118_1541_resetciscoa21.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:571px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enter the command <strong><em>delete flash:private-multiple-fs<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Press <strong><em>y<\/em><\/strong> when prompted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/integratingit.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/07\/070118_1541_resetciscoa31.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:540px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Type <strong><em>reset<\/em><\/strong> to reboot the AP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/integratingit.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/07\/070118_1541_resetciscoa41.png\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:512px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the AP has rebooted login to the AP using the default username\/password (the password is case sensitive, upper case C):-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Username: <strong><em>Cisco<br><\/em><\/strong>Password: <strong><em>Cisco<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/integratingit.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/07\/070118_1541_resetciscoa51.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The enable password is the same password.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once logged in, the hostname of the AP should be the MAC address<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the WLC WebGUI, under the AP Join Stats you should be able to confirm that the MAC address of the AP is <strong><em>Joined<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/integratingit.files.wordpress.com\/2018\/07\/070118_1541_resetciscoa61.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you do have access to the CLI of an AP but wish to reset the configuration, use either of the 2 commands below depending on the mode of the device CAPWAP\/LWAPP:-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><em>clear capwap private-config\nclear lwapp private-config\nreset<\/em><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This post describes the procedure to reset the Cisco Wireless AP to factory defaults;
